I've recently checked out a brand new meditation product. It's a large meditation manual that comes with five pre-recorded guided meditations.

I started with the guided meditations as these are always a good test. Plus you can never have enough choice of meditations to listen to as far as I'm concerned.

All the meditations are around 20 to 25 minutes long, which is a good length of time and it's fairly easy to set aside to listen to one of them. Even if you've got a hectic schedule like most people.

There are two relaxation meditations. One is a standard version which is a good
way to unwind. The other is a more advanced relaxation. If this is your first time listening to a guided meditation, I'd suggest that you listen to the regular relaxation version a few times before moving on to the advanced version. Although it seems, just easy listening to an MP3 file, there is quite a lot going on in your mind at the same time.

Next up is an abundance meditation. The aim of this is to create more abundance in your life. Whilst you'd expect this to maybe just concentrate on getting more money coming your way, it actually deals with abundance in general. So if you don't need any more cash, you can always concentrate on getting an abundance of anything else in your life whilst you listen to this audio.

The fourth guided meditation is one that you can put on when you need to be more creative. If you're like most people, your creative side has been kept suppressed. So when you need to be creative, your mind just thinks it's a problem and starts putting barriers in your way. Creativity doesn't just apply to people like artists, writers and musicians. It can equally apply when you have a project or presentation at work. I found that listening to this MP3 helped me be more creative when I was writing my recent blog entries.

Finally, the fifth meditation is maybe the most important but often overlooked one. It's about contacting your higher self. Different people have different beliefs about who or what their higher self is but it's generally accepted that your higher self is your higher consciousness. This track took me down through three different levels on my way to contacting my higher self and left me with a deep sense of inner calm once it ended.

Using music for healing and relaxation is nothing new and in the stressful times that we now live relaxing music can be a great tool to bring us joy, energy, comfort and calm.

The modern world that we live in constantly bombards us with situations that cause stress. A certain amount is good for us, but too much - especially if it is day in and day out - can cause us both emotional and physical problems. However there is a really simple, cheap and very effective answer - music. Music is a great healer. It is so powerful that
relaxation music is used by hospitals across the world to reduce anxiety in patients who are about to go into surgery. It has the power to soothe and relax you, to change your whole mood, and increase your energy levels.

As Al Bumanis spokesman for the American Music Therapy Association says "Often, music therapy is more cost-effective than administering medication, especially for patients with anxiety, sleep disturbances or pain." Listening to music with a tempo of 60 bpm has the most health benefits. This is the optimum rate for a resting heart, and you will find that when you listen to music of this tempo your breathing will slow in time to the music. This in turn will slow your heart beat, promoting a calm, meditative state.

Work Stress and Anxiety  is a common problem that everyone faces, some more than others. Having to deal with a demanding boss, co-workers and meeting deadlines can be extremely overwhelming and frustrating.

It is so important to have a balanced lifestyle that provides you with the tools on how to handle your work stress and personal stresses too. This can be achieved through stress and time management. The more organised you are with your time and your work schedule, this will help to significantly reduce your work and anxiety issues in the long-term.

Below are seven useful work stress relief tips on  how to cope with work stress and anxiety.

FIND A JOB, YOU LOVE
1. Most people do work that they don't find interesting. The result is they feel suffocated in the environment which seems alien to them. The inability to adjust and enjoy makes a person stressed and unhappy. Look for a career or work that you find interesting and challenging. This will keep you motivated and happy.
SPEND TIME WITH PEOPLE YOU GET ON WITH
2. Stay close to people with whom you share some common interests. When you are around people whom you genuinely like, things become easy automatically. Even when at the work place, try and spend more time with people that you get along with.  Try to maintain a distance from those who you find difficult to bear.
LISTEN TO RELAXING MUSIC
3. You need to learn things that relieve you of your tension. If you like listening to music between works, try and incorporate a few minutes for a music break. Similarly, one can try other things that one enjoys. Take a small break after every few hours.
DO STRETCHES AT WORK
4. Try doing exercises in between the work. Take out five minutes after each schedule and devote it to stretching or other simple exercises that help you relieve your mind of all the work stress and anxiety.
TRY TO RELAX AT WORK
5. Try to relax yourself by closing your eyes and taking your mind off all the work. Constantly looking at the computer screen will surely swell up your tension levels. So, take few minutes off the work and utilize them to give some rest to your eyes and mind. Just close your eyes and sleep ideally for a while.
EXCERCISE
6. You should also try to spend time in the gym after or before your work. This helps a lot to lay off the stress and feel better. Start eating healthy as this will contribute in your better health. Remember, a healthy body is where a healthy mind dwells. When you have a healthy mind then you are more likely to perform better at work the better you perform at work the less you will be burdened by Work Stress.
GET 8 HOURS OF SLEEP
7. Lastly, make sure to sleep each day. Eight hours of sleep is must for people involved in strenuous mental work. If it includes physical work then you need at least nine hours. No sleep or even less sleep will make you irritated and tired the next day.
Try and change personal attitude towards your work or job. It is important to have a positive mindset this will help to you to be more energised and motivated throughout the day.

Relaxation, yoga and meditation classes all instruct us to breathe deeply in through the nose and out through the mouth. Now there appears to be a very useful medical reason for this.  When you breathe in slowly through your nose it increases the levels of nitric oxide in your body.

Nitric oxide functions as a signalling mollecule - it tells the body to relax and widen the blood vessels.  This helps to control the blood pressure and prevent the formation of blood clots.

The highest levels of nitric oxide are found in the nasal passages, that's why breathing in through the nose is important.

Nitric oxide is connected to the immune system and to the skin, so try to spend five or ten minutes a day deep breathing, for healthy blood pressure, immune functioning and clear skin.

Ten Spiritual Tonics

1. Stop worrying. Worry kills life.
2. Begin each day with a prayer. It will arm your soul.
3. Control appetite. Over-indulgence clogs body and mind.
4. Accept your limitations . . .
5. Don't envy. It wastes time and energy.
6. Have faith in people. Cynicism sours the disposition.
7. Find a hobby. It will relax your nerves.
8. Read a book a week to stimulate imagination and broaden your views.
9. Spend some time alone for the peace of solitude and silence.
10. Try to want what you have, instead of spending your strength trying to get what you want.
